Alaska Airlines passengers at Norman Y. Mineta International Airport have the first opportunity to experience the airline’s latest innovations in check-in, baggage drop-off and biometric boarding at the San Jose, Calif., airport, which the airline says will cut check-in time in half, allowing passengers to bypass congested areas. “What we’re doing in San Jose is really testing our lobby vision out and using it as a tech incubator to test various ideas,” says Charu Jain, Alaska’s senior vice president of merchandising and innovation.
