Fla. Mayo Clinic’s Hybrid Care Hotel fills niche

The medical director for Mayo Clinic in Florida predicts that the clinic’s Hybrid Care Hotel in Jacksonville will be emulated by other facilities whose low-risk out-of-town patients don’t need a hospital bed while waiting. Dr. Michael Maniaci relates that the cost-efficient virtual-care idea arose during the pandemic, when beds had to be diverted to COVID-19 patients.
