American Airlines celebrates 40 years at Charlotte airport

American Airlines commemorated 40 years of growth at Charlotte Douglas International Airport on Monday, where it first launched as the hub for the airline’s legacy carrier, Piedmont Airlines on April 25, 1982. More than two hundred people attended Monday’s ceremony, including current and former American employees.
