Former President Donald Trump’s 2017 inauguration committee and the Trump family business have agreed to pay $750,000 to settle a lawsuit by the District of Columbia attorney general alleging illegal excess payments from the committee to the Trump International Hotel. The settlement, which carries no admission of wrongdoing, comes days before the scheduled closing on the sale of the hotel’s lease to a firm that plans to convert it to a Waldorf Astoria.
