Mayors urge White House to lift preflight testing requirement
A bipartisan group of 38 mayors sent a letter to White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator Ashish Jha urging immediate repeal of the pre-departure testing requirement for vaccinated air travelers arriving in the US “American cities are still struggling to regain international visitors after more than two years of pandemic-related restrictions,” the mayors wrote. “Our constituents and our businesses…cannot fully recover until this vital sector of the US economy rebounds.” The majors of Houston, Atlanta, Minneapolis and Philadelphia raised the same concerns in individual letters to the Biden administration.
