Five-star NYC hotels still value their concierges

Through the pandemic many of New York City’s three-star and four-star hotels did away with their concierges, but the five-star hotels like the Carlyle see them as essential. Jeffrey Thoennes, longtime concierge at the Carlyle hotel, said keeping the guests happy is a challenge because 70% of his contacts were gone by the time tourists started returning to the city this spring.
