There’s still time to plan a last-minute summer vacation but it helps to know which places are offering travelers the most fun for the best price. The team of travel enthusiasts at CheapAir.com recently dove into the latest airfare data to reveal the top 10 least expensive roundtrip domestic destinations between now and August 8, 2022. The rankings are based on the prices for the average roundtrip lowest fare to each destination from continental U.S. gateways. Counting down from 10 to number one, here are the major U.S. cities that Americans should set their sights on in the coming weeks before the clock strikes zero on summer.

10. Orlando, Florida
With the average roundtrip lowest fare coming in at $342, Orlando rounds out the list of the top 10 most affordable last-minute vacation destinations this summer. The potential savings should provide added incentive for families and groups who can look forward to a trip to Walt Disney World and Central Florida’s other notable theme parks like Universal Orlando and nearby Legoland Florida.

9. Houston, Texas
Houston ($336) is the most affordable last-minute escape for travelers eyeing a getaway to the Lone Star State this summer. In addition to the NASA Space Center, visitors can shop The Galleria, and visit a slew of fascinating museums such as the Children’s Museum, Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Natural Science or even whet their appetite with some delicious Texas barbecue.

8. Nashville, Tennessee
Nashville ($335) narrowly edges out Houston when it comes to wallet-friendly last-minute summer vacation destinations. It also doesn’t hurt that the Music City offers a good time for all in the form of iconic venues and history in places like the Grand Ole Opry and Country Music Hall of Fame, vibrant nightlife and live music along Broadway and charming neighborhoods from 12 South to The Gulch.

7. Denver, Colorado
Whether taking in a live concert at the otherworldly Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre or experiencing America’s pastime at Coors Field, Denver and its bountiful sunshine are worth consideration for a last-minute summer trip. The Windy City offers summer travelers the most bang for their buck, according to CheapAir.com. With the average roundtrip lowest fare to Chicago ($298) coming in at just under $300, vacationers can stretch their budget further while experiencing marquee sites and attractions like Navy Pier, Skydeck Chicago at Willis Tower and the renowned Art Institute of Chicago.
