Waikiki hotel, union reach accord, other talks ongoing

A two-year contract between Hilton Hawaiian Village and 1,800 employees, approved Wednesday by a vote of members, ends a 21-day hiatus in pacts between the state’s largest hospitality union and some of Waikiki’s largest hotels. Local 5 of Unite Here is still negotiating with other chains including Hyatt Hotels Corp. and Marriott International.
