Atlas Air Worldwide to be acquired by investment group

Atlas Air announced an agreement to be acquired by an investor group led by private-equity group Apollo together with investment affiliates of J.F. Lehman & Company and Hill City Capital in an all-cash transaction. The deal has an enterprise value of $5.2 billion. Companies including FedEx and Boeing lease Atlas airplanes to ship perishables, heavy machinery and even people.
