Polish Aviation Day
August, 28th is a special day for Polish Aviation
We are celebrating Polish Aviation Day. This day is dedicated to the whole aviation industry (civil and military), air navigation services, ground handling personnel and everyone associated with aviation. Polish Aviation Day is celebrated on the anniversary of the victory of Cpt. Franciszek Żwirko and pilot engineer- Stanisław Wigura in the International Tourist Aircraft Competition – Challenge 1932 in Berlin.
Cpt. Franciszek Żwirko was an instructor of the Lodz Aviation Club and trained young pilots under the Aviation Military Training course. The club was transformed into the Lodz Aeroclub, which operates to this day and Cpt. Franciszek Żwirko is its patron.
At Polish Aviation Day, we would like to wish our colleagues from all civil and military airports, pilots and flight attendants, airlines employees and air traffic controllers in Poland and all over the world – good luck, successful and safe work and of course all the best to our passengers.
Łódź is preparing for its own aviation festivity – The route development forum – Routes Europe 2023. The Forum will start on May, 9th and last until May, 11th. Delegates from airports, airlines, regions and tourist organizations will come to Łódź. During meetings and business panels they will discuss about current situation of the aviation industry and direction of its development in the future. They will also talk about launching new routes in upcoming IATA seasons. We expect to host over 1,200 delegates from all over the World.
We hope that Routes Europe 2023 will bring many benefits and good news about new connections for the inhabitants of Lodz and the whole region of Central Poland.
