Software helps Alaska Airlines reduce emissions

New flight dispatching software has allowed Alaska Airlines to take an average of 2.7 minutes off each flight this year, cutting carbon dioxide emissions by 6,866 metric tons, which equates to a gas-powered car driving 17 million miles. The software looks for routes that can bypass potential air traffic as well as adverse weather.
