FL Technics launches line maintenance facility in Abu Dhabi
In a move to support Wizz Air’s expansion and growth in the Middle East, FL Technics has established a dedicated hub to support the carrier’s A320 fleet out of Abu Dhabi. The new location is the second FL Technics line maintenance station in the region, in addition to the currently operated station in Dubai International Airport (DXB).
The low-fare carrier will benefit from global MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) service provider as FL Technics has setup a full-fledged line maintenance package under GCAA certification, including scheduled and on-call maintenance, parts and components supply chain services, as well as management and administration of the projects in-line with UAE regulations and requirements.
Emphasising the move to open a new business in a highly competitive market, Zilvinas Lapinskas, CEO of FL Technics, said: “United Arab Emirates has always been perceived as a pinnacle of global aviation, a hub of highest standards and quality, would it be state-led activities, or global business operations.”
“I am excited to see the success of our team, meeting the benchmark of services, and starting dedicated line maintenance entity with GCAA approval in place. I am also glad to see ambitious growth of our long-term partner – Wizz Air – and proud to support it from the very beginning. And I am sure, this is only the start of more strategic projects and developments for FL Technics in the region.”
