Malaysia Airlines will distribute New Distribution Capability content via the Travelport Plus global distribution system, per a multi-year renewal agreement between the airline and the technology company.

With the agreement, Travelport will “be working even closer with Malaysia Airlines to continue to deliver our Travelport Rich Content and Branding solution, which helps to further elevate the airline’s retail product offerings through our Travelport Plus platform,” according to Sue Carter, Travelport’s head of air partners in the Asia-Pacific region. “Together, we will also be working hand in hand to embark on Malaysia Airlines’ NDC journey, jumpstarting innovations which will improve modern travel retail customer experiences.”

The announcement did not specify a timeframe in which the carrier’s NDC content will be available in Travelport Plus.

The carrier noted that it has been seeing an “upward trajectory” in flight bookings since the reopening of Malaysia’s international borders on April 1. In early April, Malaysia Airlines also announced an expanded distribution agreement with Amadeus, through which it will adopt the Amadeus Altéa NDC offering.
