United exec details sustainable fuel initiatives

United Airlines has invested more in sustainable aviation fuel than any airline worldwide, said Chief Sustainability Officer Lauren Riley. “When you look at the amount of fuel that United burns in a typical year, pre-pandemic numbers, it’s about four billion gallons of fuel,” Riley said, “so there is no way that you can talk about climate leadership without talking about replacing that fuel.”
