Building on the success of the 2022 event, a welcome return of the in-person event following Covid restrictions, Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) is returning on 6-8 June 2023, the year in which the aviation and airline sectors are forecast to return to profitability, with more than 4.2 billion passengers set to take to the skies over the next 12 months. The show organisers, RX, say they expect leading airlines, lessors and business jet operators to attend the 2023 event, ready to source next-generation products and solutions that will enhance the passenger experience.

A broad range of more than 1,000 cabin interior products and services will be on display at the expo, including cabin management systems, flooring, galley equipment, in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC), interior paints and coverings, lighting, lavatory and waste equipment, seating and more – all available for product specifiers to see and try out. Leading global airline suppliers from more than 30 countries will be exhibiting at AIX, including seating specialists such as Safran, Recaro Aircraft Seating, Jamco Corporation and HAECO Cabin Solutions; and IFEC providers such as Panasonic Avionics, Thales Group, Astronics Corporation, Latitude Aero, and Bluebox Aviation Systems.

The show is large, spanning Halls B1 – B7 of Hamburg Messe – there is a lot of ground to cover in three days, let alone a day trip. Helpfully there will be dedicated zones hosting suppliers and specialists in key product areas. For example, the ever-growing IFEC Zone will provide a dedicated space for attendees to test the latest IFEC products from more than 50 exhibitors.

More help is at hand with the show planning tool, AIX Connect, designed to help bring together attendees and exhibitors during the show to build business connections, discuss new projects, network and do business. More than 5,000 confirmed meetings were scheduled via AIX Connect across the three days of last year’s expo.

Learning opportunities will also be available, with the popular CabinSpace Live Seminar theatre helping connect audience members with cabin interior industry leaders, as they share experiences and insights into current and emerging challenges. A full programme of sessions and speakers will be announced by RX in the coming months. The zone will also play host to the winners of this year’s Crystal Cabin Awards – the only international award for excellence in aircraft interior innovation.

Attendees can also immerse themselves in the latest insights at the Passenger Experience Conference, which takes place on the day before AIX, on 5th June 2023. The event will bring together leading visionaries representing airlines, airframers, OEMs, suppliers and design agencies to discuss the future passenger experience, onboard environments, and services. There is also a great networking opportunity after the conference closes, when attendees can meet new contacts in a relaxed atmosphere at the Welcome Party.

Polly Magraw, event director for Aircraft Interiors Expo, commented: “It is great to see the recovery of the industry maintaining pace. While there is still a long way to go back to pre-pandemic levels, the industry is taking the right steps, and we’re delighted to see airlines embracing the opportunity to transform their business operations to meet the evolving expectations of passengers. After the return of AIX in 2022, we’re excited to get back to business, creating even more opportunities for attendees to connect, learn and source the latest innovations. After what was one of our most successful years for new exhibitor launches, we can’t wait to see what the industry has in store for 2023.”

Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) 2023 will take place at Hamburg Messe, Germany from 6-8 June, in Halls B1 – B7. The show is co-located with the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo (WTCE), which can be found in Halls A1 and A4. Together, the events will provide passenger experience professionals with a unique opportunity to identify new products and solutions throughout the cabin.

Visitor registration will open in March 2023. To register your interest to attend, visit the website here.
