Tripism Taps Dinova for Dining Decision Engine

Business travel booking and planning platform Tripism has partnered with corporate dining network Dinova to launch a restaurant recommendation engine for business travelers, the company announced.

The engine analyzes a corporate customer’s anonymized restaurant spending data to match users with an appropriate dining option in the Dinova network. Criteria in recommendations include local knowledge of colleagues in the dining destination city, convenience to office or client locations and a company’s culture or expense policy. The engine can help with selections based on specific needs—for entertainment versus meetings, for example—and ensure selections meet travelers’ dietary requirements, according to Tripism.

Tripism developed the engine to fulfill “specific needs that haven’t been addressed until now” with corporate dining, according to Tripism CEO Adam Kerr. Dinova currently reports more than 21,000 restaurants in its network.

“Business travelers have very different needs than the typical leisure traveler and are a crucial market for restaurants,” Dinova CEO Alison Quinn said in a statement. “They often entertain large groups or use a dining opportunity to connect with VIP clients; these are high stakes dining events where the consequences of poor food or service are more severe.”
