First SF Express flight arrives to Abu Dhabi International Airport

Abu Dhabi Airports has celebrated the arrival of the first SF Express cargo plane at Abu Dhabi International Airport. This inaugural flight marked the beginning of operations for the Chinese global freight carrier in the region.

To achieve more reliable service delivery, SF Express has partnered with Etihad Cargo and Kerry Logistics, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Etihad Cargo to link their respective networks.

Jamal Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports, expressed his excitement about this new milestone and stated that they are eager to establish Abu Dhabi as a major air cargo hub in the region.

Li Sheng, Chairman of SF Airlines, said that working with Abu Dhabi Airports would be beneficial for all parties involved, while Martin Drew, SVP Global Sales & Cargo at Etihad Airways, added that this partnership aligns with Abu Dhabi’s vision of becoming a global logistics hub.

The Abu Dhabi International Airport is working towards becoming a major air cargo and logistics hub by forming strategic partnerships. Abu Dhabi Airports, the company that owns and operates five airports in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, aims to attract more cargo carriers to the region by providing reliable and efficient services. The airport’s expansion plans include building new cargo terminals and upgrading existing infrastructure to accommodate the growing demand for air cargo services in the region.
