A Delta Air Lines Boeing 757 and Aeromexico Boeing 737 was involved in a ground collision between two taxiways at MEX

A collision between a Delta Air Lines Boeing 757 and an Aeromexico Boeing 737 occurred on April 17, 2023, while both aircraft were taxiing at Mexico City International Airport (MEX).

The Delta Air Lines Boeing 757-200, registered as N694DL, was preparing for departure to New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), and the Aeromexico Boeing 737-800 NextGeneration (NG), registered as XA-AMO, was about to depart for Ciudad Juarez International Airport (CJS) carrying out flight AM117.

The collision took place between taxiways B and D, with the wingtip of the Aeromexico Boeing 737 colliding with the horizontal stabilizer of the Delta Air Lines Boeing 757.

Both aircraft sustained damage, and an investigation has been launched by the authorities to determine the cause of the incident. No injuries were reported. Both planes have remained on the ground since the accident, and Aeromexico operated another aircraft for the affected flight.
