Starlux Airlines' ambitions to fly to New York is being impacted by Airbus delivery delays

Airline Starlux Airlines is planning to fly to New York, but its plans are being impacted by Airbus delivery delays.

The Taiwanese airline’s CEO, Glenn Chai, stated that “New York is a must – it is the largest city in North America, but it depends on aircraft deliveries.” Currently, the carrier plans to launch flights to Los Angeles International Airport from Taipei Taoyuan International Airport with an Airbus A350-900, according to flightradar24.com data.

Starlux Airlines operates an all-Airbus fleet, with 20 aircraft, including 13 A321neo, four A330-900neo, and three A350-900. The airline is open to Boeing taking part in the price quotation process, indicating that it may introduce Boeing aircraft into its fleet. As of March 31, 2023, Starlux Airlines has a total of 17 A350-900s on order from Airbus.
