After just six months, Spirit Airlines has decided to end its flights from Connecticut’s Bradley International Airport to Jamaica.

“They’ve cited low load factors and future sales. Unfortunately, I don’t think they gave the service enough time,” said Kevin Dillon, executive director of the Connecticut Airport Authority.

But it’s not all bad news for Bradley. In fact, there’s good news about all of this.

Dillon said he has been informed that Breeze Airways, the upstart low-budget carrier, will expand its service from Bradley to New Orleans, Fort Myers and Tampa.

Bradley is a convenient option in the northeast for those looking to avoid bigger airports in New York City and Logan Airport in Boston.

Air Canada will resume service to Toronto from Bradley beginning in June, and Dillon said he is hopeful that Irish national carrier Aer Lingus will expand its service from Bradley to year-round.
