5 Reasons To Set Sail on Virgin Voyages’ New Resilient Lady
From the outset, Virgin Voyages has been determined to provide Sailors with a different kind of cruise experience, distinguishing itself in many ways from the traditional style of cruising that travelers have become accustomed to. The line aims to offer singularly awesome sea-going getaways that are somewhat surprising, more modern and supremely attuned to the tastes of today’s travelers.
Its nascent fleet will soon be comprised of four game-changing vessels, referred to as its “Lady Ships”, one of which has yet to enter service. Each of these superyachts was conceived as a sort of hybrid between a luxury passenger ship and an ultra-luxury yacht. The three that are currently in operation—Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady and Resilient Lady—have already won numerous industry awards and garnered stellar reviews.
1. Be Among the First Aboard
Virgin’s third and newest vessel, Resilient Lady, officially entered service just this month and now begins her inaugural summer season in Europe, homeported in Athens and sailing seven-night voyages around the Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas. Then, this winter, Resilient Lady will set off on a trans-continental voyage, arriving in Melbourne, Victoria in December and, sailing itineraries across Australia and New Zealand through March 2024.
1. It’s Exclusively for Adults
Virgin Voyages has opted to forgo family-oriented amenities and offerings, instead curating a casually luxurious adults-only cruise experience. So, travelers must be 18 years or older to sail with this line. Virgin’s seafaring getaways are designed to supply a distinctively serene atmosphere, so every Sailor can savor the kind of vacation that suits their vibe. Cruise-goers can spend some of their time living it up like a rockstar, or they can retreat to any number of quiet, luxurious oases when they need some time away from the action.
2. List of Luxury Inclusions
Virgin Voyages’ “Always Included Luxury” concept, an all-inclusive approach to creating a laid-back luxury vacation, means guests won’t encounter any nickel-and-diming aboard their cruise. Cabin pricing covers unlimited food and basic beverages (of the non-alcoholic variety) at all onboard restaurants—that’s more than 20 unique eateries, ranging from fine dining to relaxed casual, and featuring menus created by a collective of Michelin-starred chefs, and prepared using fresh ingredients to create made-to-order dishes. Sailors will also find basic Wi-Fi is included, as are all entertainment offerings and group fitness sessions, including yoga, meditation, cycling and HIIT classes, among others.
3. All Gratuities Are Covered
The company bundles daily gratuities for onboard staff members (including restaurant servers) into the price of its itineraries, so tips are already taken care of, and you don’t need to strain your brain or search for your phone to calculate tip amounts. One less thing to worry about!
4. Tons of Entertainment Options
Virgin Voyages Sailors are spoiled for choice when it comes to onboard entertainment options. Shows, artists and performers appear as part of a rotating, festival-like lineup, which means each sailing’s guests could be treated to any combination of Broadway-style theatrical productions, immersive musical and dance performances, cabaret and supper club shows, game show-style games, themed parties, nightclub events, karaoke sessions or other unexpected pop-up performances. Then, there’s always the option of hitting the Casino or, exclusively aboard Scarlet Lady, the WPT at Sea Poker Room, staffed by professional dealers and featuring live games, tournaments and other special events.
