Emirates, the largest airline in the Middle East, has announced that it will offer its new Premium Economy class on daily flights between Dubai and two Indian cities from October 29.

The airline will operate its A380 aircraft, which have been retrofitted with the new cabin class, on flights to Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) and Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (BLR).

The Premium Economy class will provide more comfort, space and privacy to passengers who want to upgrade from Economy class without paying for Business class.

The Premium Economy seats are 19.5 inches wide and have a pitch of up to 40 inches. They can recline up to eight inches and have a calf rest and a footrest. Each seat also has a 13.3-inch personal screen with access to over 5,000 channels of entertainment on ice, Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment system.

Passengers in Premium Economy will also enjoy priority check-in and boarding, a dedicated cabin crew, a generous baggage allowance of 35 kg, and enhanced dining options served on chinaware with stainless steel cutlery.

Emirates is the first airline to offer Premium Economy on A380 flights to India, which is one of its largest and most important markets. The airline currently flies to nine destinations in India, including Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi and Kolkata.

Emirates introduced its Premium Economy class in December 2020 on its newest A380 aircraft. The airline plans to deploy its A380s with Premium Economy on more routes in the coming months, including Los Angeles in July.

Emirates is also retrofitting its existing A380 fleet with the new cabin class, as well as refreshing the interiors of all other cabins with new designs and features.

Emirates is the world’s largest operator of the A380, with 118 aircraft in service and eight more on order. The A380 is popular among customers for its spaciousness, quietness and onboard amenities such as the Onboard Lounge and the First Class Shower Spa.

Emirates is a global airline that connects people and places across six continents. The airline flies to more than 150 destinations in 85 countries and territories.
