Sonesta Launches Two New Soft Brands

Sonesta International Hotel Corp. has added two new soft brands to its portfolio with the launch of the upscale Mod and upper-upscale Classico, the company announced.

Mod and Classico add to Sonesta’s portfolio of 19 brands as franchise entities with properties that will maintain their “own iconic hotel names, identities, designs and established styles,” the company said in a statement.

The first Mod hotel opened May 1 as Hotel 11 in Calgary, a Sonesta representative told BTN via email. The first Classico property also opened in May as Z Ocean Hotel in Miami, the spokesperson said.

The news follows the hotel company’s launch of the Sonesta Essential brand, announced in January.
