Delta Air Lines and Kenya Airways have announced the expansion of their strategic partnership to include Kenya Airways’ nonstop flights between New York and Nairobi, effective August 5, 2023. This expanded collaboration aims to provide customers of both airlines with enhanced travel options, seamless connectivity, and improved frequent flyer rewards.

Kenya Airways, the national carrier of Kenya, operates daily flights between Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) and New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), offering the only nonstop connection between East Africa and the United States. With Delta Air Lines adding its code to this service, passengers can conveniently book tickets through Delta and enjoy the benefits of Delta’s SkyMiles program.

This extended partnership not only grants travelers access to the New York-Nairobi route but also extends connectivity to 31 additional destinations in Africa and an additional 57 across the United States and Canada. Notable destinations covered by this partnership include Accra, Dakar, Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Lagos.

Alain Bellemare, Delta’s President of International, highlighted that this strategic partnership aligns with Delta’s commitment to expanding its presence across the African continent, where it has been offering nonstop flights since 2006. Allan Kilavuka, CEO of Kenya Airways, expressed that this collaboration will improve connectivity between Africa and the United States, making the KQ product directly accessible through their American partner.
