A Remarkable Collection of White Porsches Up for Auction in December
Prepare for a Porsche auction like no other this December as RM Sotheby’s brings to the block a captivating collection of nearly 60 white sports cars from the esteemed German marque. Aptly named the “White Collection,” this treasury has been meticulously curated over a decade and boasts some of the most iconic Porsches in history, with six expected to command seven-figure price tags.
While the identity of the collection’s owner remains shrouded in mystery, one thing is clear: their affinity for the color white knows no bounds. With only a few exceptions, nearly all of the 56 cars slated for auction left the factory in distinctive shades of white. But it doesn’t stop there—the storage facility itself features white walls and is adorned with exclusively white furniture.
At the heart of this collection lies a truly one-of-a-kind gem—a 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder, enhanced with the weight-saving Weissach package. Boasting a staggering 875 horsepower, this speed demon dons a paint-to-sample Grand Prix White finish and is projected to fetch between $2.5 million to $3 million.
For aficionados of the iconic Porsche 911, there’s a feast of options. Chief among these is a 1993 911 Carrera RSR 3.8also finished in Grand Prix White over a stunning red-and-white leather interior. It’s likely to sell for between $2 million and $2.5 million. Other 911s of note include a hand-built, air-cooled 1997 911 GT2 (expected to sell for between $2 million and $2.2 million) and a barely driven 1994 911 Turbo S X85 ‘Flat-Nose’ ($1.5 million to $2 million). There’s also a 1973 911 Carrera 2.7 Lightweight with red graphics and wheels and a 1973 911 Carrera 2.7 Touring with blue graphics and wheels ($900,000 to $1.2 million). If none of those catch your eye, there are two red Porsche tractors, along with over 500 museum-grade accessories, parts, tools, and literature.
The White Collection is set to go under the gavel in Houston, Texas, over two days—Friday, December 1, and Saturday, December 2. Whether you’re on the hunt for something exceptional or delightfully unconventional, this auction promises to cater to every Porsche collector’s preferences.
