Air Canada, Canada’s flag carrier and a distinguished Star Alliance member, is gearing up to inaugurate a direct flight corridor between Montreal (YUL) and Austin (AUS) come May 2024. The service, set to be operational four times weekly—Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays—will deploy the technologically advanced Airbus A220 for these journeys.

This new connection promises a seamless and expedited travel experience between two cities renowned for their pulsating cultural scenes, innovative spirit, and artistic prowess. Montreal, globally recognized as the world’s second-largest Francophone city, is an epicenter of artistry, culinary delights, and myriad festivals. Conversely, Austin, Texas’ capital city, stands out as a nucleus for groundbreaking technology, entrepreneurial ventures, and a deep-seated musical heritage.

The introduction of this route accentuates Air Canada’s strategic move to bolster its North American grid and ensure greater connectivity across continents. Montreal serves as a pivotal hub for Air Canada, facilitating transfers to an impressive roster of over 100 global destinations spanning Canada, the U.S., Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America. Simultaneously, Austin holds prominence for United Airlines—Air Canada’s joint venture ally—as it provides a gateway to in excess of 50 destinations via the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

Emphasizing the strategic importance of this venture, Air Canada’s Vice President of Network Planning and Alliances, Mark Galardo, articulated that this addition resonates with Air Canada’s ongoing endeavors to amplify its global footprint and cater to the evolving preferences of its clientele. Galardo further highlighted the anticipated boost this connection will give to the tourism and trade sectors of both Quebec and Texas, paving the way for fortified relations between the two regions.
