U.S. Airlines Commemorate Veterans Day with Special Programs and Partnerships

In honor of Veterans Day, major U.S. airlines have launched a variety of initiatives to recognize and support veterans and active service members. These efforts showcase the airlines’ commitment to giving back to those who have served the nation.

Alaska Airlines is at the forefront with its Fallen Hero Program, dedicated to providing dignified transport services for fallen service members. This program reflects the airline’s deep respect for military personnel and their ultimate sacrifices.

American Airlines has joined hands with United Service Organizations (USOs) to extend support to injured service members and their families. This collaboration is part of the airline’s broader initiative to give back to the military community.

Veterans Day at Atlas Air was marked by a special acknowledgment of crew members with military backgrounds. The airline took this opportunity to express gratitude for their service and to highlight the valuable skills veterans bring to the aviation industry.

Delta Air Lines went a step further by organizing a two-day event, underlining their ongoing efforts to recruit veterans and assist in their transition to civilian careers at Delta. This event served as a platform to demonstrate Delta’s long-standing support for veteran employees.

FedEx teamed up with USO for a holiday packing event, focusing on delivering care packages to troops stationed in remote areas. This initiative is a testament to FedEx’s commitment to keeping service members connected with their homes and families during the holiday season.

They also have the Hawaiian Airlines Veterans Employee Network (HAVEN) employee resource group. JetBlue offers the Gateway Rotor Transition Program (RTP) for veterans transitioning into piloting roles. Southwest Airlines partners with the Honor Flight Network to send military heroes to national memorials.

United Airlines also partnered with the Fisher House Foundation matching the first one million miles raised during the month of November to go towards travel for families of service members who are undergoing medical treatment. UPS supports veterans through job opportunities and its VetFran program, which offers reduced franchise fees for veteran entrepreneurs.
