United Airlines Expects Record Thanksgiving Travel
United Airlines is preparing for a record-breaking Thanksgiving holiday season, with an estimated 5.9 million passengers expected to travel during this period. The airline has reported a surge in winter travel demand and is gearing up for a busy travel period.
Mark Weithofer, United’s Managing Director of Domestic Network Planning, noted that the airline has already seen remarkable demand for winter travel. To enhance the passenger experience and streamline operations, United Airlines has introduced a new boarding system that arranges passengers by seat type: window, middle, and aisle.
This innovative boarding process aims to save time and improve efficiency, potentially reducing boarding times by up to 2 minutes per flight. With the Sunday following Thanksgiving anticipated to be the busiest travel day, every minute saved can contribute to a smoother travel experience for passengers.
In addition to optimizing its boarding procedures, United Airlines has also announced new routes to Florida and popular ski destinations. These route expansions provide travelers with more options and flexibility when planning their winter getaways.
