Jet2 Boosts Fleet Sustainability with Conversion of 12 A321neo Options

Jet2 plc, the parent company of Jet2, has announced a strategic move to enhance its fleet’s environmental efficiency. In its latest quarterly financial report, the company revealed the conversion of twelve options for A321-200NX aircraft, expanding its firm order book for the A320neo Family to a total of 110 units.

Emphasizing the benefits of the A321-200NX, Jet2 highlighted its reduced fuel consumption, resulting in lower carbon emissions per seat. Additionally, the aircraft boasts a significantly diminished noise footprint compared to previous-generation single-aisle models. This fleet expansion aligns with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ commitment to sustainable growth. The airline has already taken delivery of the initial five A321-200NX aircraft, with an additional six expected to arrive in the coming calendar year.

Jet2 underscored the significance of its long-term agreement with Airbus, ensuring a stable aircraft supply well into the next decade. The move reflects the leisure-focused low-cost carrier’s dedication to environmentally conscious operations.

According to the ch-aviation fleets advanced module, Jet2’s current fleet includes five A321-200NX, three A321-200s, seven Boeing 737-300s, eighty-five 737-800s, and eight 757-200s. The A320neo Family order book comprises thirty-five A320-200Ns and seventy A321-200NX, all equipped with CFM International LEAP-1A engines. The airline retains an additional 36 unconfirmed A320/A321neo options, demonstrating its commitment to future fleet expansion.
