American Airlines (AA) has confirmed a firm order for four Embraer E175 aircraft, intended for placement with its wholly-owned subsidiary, Envoy Air. This latest order follows a previous announcement in June for seven E175s and aligns with American Airlines’ strategy for growth in the domestic and regional markets.

Envoy Air’s President and CEO, Pedro Fábregas, expressed satisfaction with the new order, emphasizing the role of these aircraft in supporting growth initiatives following challenging years in the industry. The four E175s are scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Envoy Air, American Airlines’ production carrier, currently operates a fleet comprising twenty-six E170s and 107 E175s. The carrier phased out its last E145 in June 2023. While all the E175s are owned by American Airlines, the majority of Envoy Air’s E170s are leased from Republic Airways and Azorra Aviation.

The strategic addition of these four E175s to Envoy Air’s fleet reinforces American Airlines’ commitment to domestic and regional market recovery. Republic Airways and SkyWest Airlines also operate E175s on behalf of American Airlines under the American Eagle brand.

The new order contributes to the modernization and expansion of Envoy Air’s fleet, enhancing its capacity to meet growing demand and play a pivotal role in American Airlines’ network strategy.
