Braathens International Airways Welcomes First A320 Ahead of Charter Operations

Braathens International Airways (TT), based in Sweden, has expanded its fleet with the addition of its inaugural A320-200, registered as SE-RGF (msn 3240). This 16.1-year-old aircraft, leased from DAE Capital, arrives ahead of the airline’s planned launch of charter flights for Nordic tour operator Apollo, scheduled to commence in early October.

The A320, previously operated by Ultra Air, underwent a ferry journey from Marana, making stops at Tucson International, Bangor, and Reykjavik Keflavik before reaching Ostrava for maintenance and repainting. As of September 29, the aircraft was officially registered in Sweden, signaling its readiness for service.

Braathens International Airways, an Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) under BRA – Braathens Regional Airlines, intends to incorporate two A320s to cater to winter season charter operations in collaboration with Apollo. The carrier’s existing fleet consists of four A319-100s, primarily utilized for leisure charters, along with a single scheduled route connecting Stockholm Bromma and Malmö on behalf of its parent company.

The introduction of the A320 marks a strategic move for Braathens International Airways as it enhances its capacity and expands services in conjunction with tour operators. The airline’s commitment to modernizing its fleet aligns with its focus on providing efficient and reliable charter flights to meet the demands of the Nordic travel market.
