Windstar Cruises Introduces Exclusive Wine Experiences on 2024 Sailings

Windstar Cruises is elevating the cruising experience for oenophiles in 2024 with an array of new wine experiences on select itineraries. Guests aboard these special cruises will have the unique opportunity to indulge in rare, small-batch wines while journeying to enchanting destinations like Tahiti, Portugal, and Iceland.

The boutique cruise line is set to feature an exclusive selection of award-winning wines on five distinct cruises in 2024. These wines, typically reserved for winery visits and wine club members, will now be accessible to Windstar passengers. This exclusive offering allows guests to savor exceptional wines that are often unavailable outside of the wineries where they are produced.

To enrich these wine experiences, Windstar is collaborating with select West Coast wineries and a U.S. importer/exporter, introducing exclusive onboard wine tasting seminars. Adding to the allure, some of these wine-focused cruises will coincide with James Beard Foundation sailings. On these sailings, guests can enjoy a chef-hosted dinner with wine pairings, cooking demonstrations, and a market tour guided by the chef.

Peter Tobler, Windstar’s Director of Hotel Operations, highlights the uniqueness of these offerings, noting that guests will be able to taste wines that are generally exclusive to their production wineries.

The 2024 wine cruise lineup includes:

  1. James Beard Foundation & Wine Cruise (Star Legend, May 28-June 6): Featuring Denner Vineyards of Paso Robles, California, and Chef Tanya Holland from the San Francisco Bay Area.
  2. Wine Cruise: Lands of the Midnight Sun (Star Pride, June 10-21): Showcasing Talbott Vineyards of Carmel-By-The-Sea, California.
  3. James Beard Foundation & Wine Cruise (Wind Surf, August 28-September 5): Highlighting Louis M. Martini Winery of Napa Valley, California, with Chef Loryn Nalic of St. Louis, Missouri.
  4. Wine Cruise: Sicilian Splendors (Wind Surf, September 21-October 1): Featuring Maze Row Wine Merchant.
  5. Wine Cruise: Tahiti & the Tuamotu Islands (Star Breeze, November 7-18): Showcasing J Vineyards and Winery of Healdsburg, California.

This innovative approach by Windstar Cruises offers wine enthusiasts an unparalleled opportunity to combine their love for fine wines with the adventure of travel, all while exploring some of the world’s most beautiful destinations.
