Carnival Cruise Line is excited to announce the latest addition to its expanding fleet, the Carnival Firenze, transitioning from its sister line Costa Cruises. This move increases Carnival’s impressive fleet to 27 ships, reinforcing its position as a leader in the cruise industry. Over the coming two months, Carnival plans to refurbish the Carnival Firenze, infusing it with the beloved Carnival features along with a unique Italian twist, celebrating the merger of Florentine beauty and Carnival’s signature fun.

Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, expressed her enthusiasm about the new ship, emphasizing the concept of ‘Carnival Fun Italian Style’ that Carnival Firenze will bring to its passengers. The ship is set to operate year-round from Long Beach, California, starting April 25, 2024, offering a variety of itineraries. These include three and four-day excursions to Mexico and Catalina Island, as well as longer five-, six-, and seven-day cruises to the Mexican Riviera, featuring stops at popular destinations like Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, and Puerto Vallarta.

Passengers aboard the Carnival Firenze will be treated to an immersive Italian experience, highlighted by the ship’s architecture that draws inspiration from iconic Italian locales. The atrium pays homage to Florence’s Piazza del Duomo, while the Lido deck is reminiscent of the Italian Riviera, blending cultural heritage with modern cruise amenities.

Culinary offerings aboard the Carnival Firenze will feature a mix of popular food and beverage venues from its sister ship, the Carnival Venezia, including La Strada Grill for classic Italian street food, Tomodoro for Mexitalian fusion cuisine, and Il Viaggio, Carnival’s specialty Italian restaurant showcasing the diverse culinary regions of Italy. The ship will also host Italian-themed bars like Amari and Frizzante, offering craft cocktails, authentic Italian coffee, biscotti, and sparkling wines.

Entertainment and activities on the Carnival Firenze will celebrate Italian culture, from Festa Italiana deck parties, where Little Italy meets Lido, to the Captain’s Venetian Toast and tailored youth programming. Additionally, guests will find familiar Carnival favorites such as the Heroes Tribute Lounge, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse, Java Blue Café, Serenity Adult-Only Retreat, and Carnival WaterWorks, ensuring a blend of new experiences with the comforts and excitement Carnival is known for.

The introduction of Carnival Firenze to the fleet not only broadens Carnival Cruise Line’s offering but also introduces a fresh, culturally rich dimension to cruising, promising guests an unforgettable journey filled with Italian style and Carnival’s renowned fun atmosphere.
