Cunard Announces Enlightening Speaker Line-Up for 2024 Alaska Sailings in Partnership with the Royal Canadian Geographical Society

Cunard’s 2024 Alaska cruise season aboard the Queen Elizabeth is set to offer guests an enriching and educational experience, thanks to its continued partnership with the Royal Canadian Geographical Society (RCGS). From June to September, travelers will have the unique opportunity to engage with a diverse array of experts in fields ranging from space exploration and geography to filmmaking, photography, and more, enhancing their journey through the breathtaking landscapes of Alaska.

Katie McAlister, President of Cunard, highlighted the cruise line’s dedication to providing guests with inspiring educational experiences that complement the stunning natural beauty and rich culture of the region. The partnership with RCGS, first initiated last year, received phenomenal feedback from guests, prompting Cunard to eagerly continue this collaboration into the 2024 season.

The announced speaker lineup features distinguished individuals, including:

  • Brian and Dee Keating, renowned wilderness adventurers and naturalists.
  • Andrew Fuestel, a professional astronaut with 23 years of service at NASA.
  • Patricia Sims, a documentary filmmaker and naturalist, also known for founding World Elephant Day.
  • Russell Potter, an author and historian with expertise in the lost Franklin Arctic expedition of 1845.
  • George Kourounis, an explorer and adventurer contributing to the Discovery Channel and the Weather Network.
  • Lynn Moorman, a geographer and educator focusing on glaciers, fjords, and geographic technologies.
  • Jill Heinerth, an underwater diver and explorer with a wealth of knowledge in coastal environments.
  • David Gray, a naturalist, photographer, and adventurer, known for hosting “The Calgary Eyeopener” radio show in Canada.

In addition to the RCGS speakers, Cunard’s Alaska sailings will host other notable experts, including Alex Debogorski of the History Channel’s “Ice Road Truckers” and Caroline Hamilton, who was part of the first all-woman team to ski to both the North and South Poles.

This lineup of speakers underscores Cunard’s commitment to offering guests not just a voyage, but a comprehensive educational experience that deepens their understanding and appreciation of the natural world.
