After nearly a four-year hiatus, Emirates’ A380 has gracefully touched down in Vienna, Austria, carrying over 400 passengers. This marks a celebratory moment as Emirates stands as the sole airline to bring the majestic double-decker aircraft back to Vienna International Airport, highlighting a significant chapter in the ongoing partnership between Emirates and the Austrian capital.

Elisabeth Zauner, Emirates’ Country Manager for Austria, expressed her delight over the A380’s return to the Vienna-Dubai route. She highlighted the A380 as Emirates’ flagship and a global passenger favorite, underscoring the aircraft’s comeback as a significant milestone in the airline’s operations in Austria. “The return of the double-decker marks a milestone for Emirates’ operations in Austria and demonstrates the significance of our market in Emirates’ global route network,” Zauner remarked, emphasizing the unparalleled onboard experience the A380 offers to passengers.

Adding to the enthusiasm, Julian Jäger, Joint CEO of Vienna Airport, celebrated the A380’s regular service resumption to Vienna. He recognized the world’s largest passenger aircraft as a major attraction for travelers and a valuable addition to Vienna Airport. Jäger pointed out the increase in capacity as a positive indicator of strengthened connections between Austria and the Near and Middle East, which bodes well for both inbound and outbound tourism. “The world’s largest passenger aircraft is a highlight for all travellers and a great enrichment for Vienna Airport,” he stated, welcoming the A380’s impactful return.
