Marriott International is set to expand its footprint in the all-inclusive resort market with a significant debut in the Dominican Republic. Slated for an early 2025 opening, the Marriott Miches Beach Resort, An All-Inclusive Resort, will introduce a new level of luxury and convenience to the picturesque Miches region, renowned for its pristine beaches and natural beauty. This strategic move comes as Marriott aims to solidify its presence in the increasingly popular all-inclusive sector.

The transformation of the former Sunrise Miches Beach Resort into the expansive 498-room Marriott Miches Beach Resort marks a pivotal moment in Marriott’s expansion strategy. Starting in the second quarter of 2024, the resort will undergo extensive renovations to meet Marriott’s high standards of hospitality and service. Located approximately an hour from the tourist hotspot of Punta Cana, on the Dominican Republic’s northeast coast, the resort promises an unparalleled beachfront experience with stunning views and direct beach access.

Marriott’s venture into the Dominican Republic’s all-inclusive market will feature an array of amenities designed to cater to every guest’s needs. The resort will boast guestrooms equipped with balconies or terraces, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. For those seeking an even more immersive experience, swim-up accommodations will provide direct pool access. Culinary enthusiasts will delight in the six restaurants and multiple bars planned for the resort, along with three unique pop-up venues that promise to surprise and engage guests with varying dining experiences.

Leisure and relaxation will be at the forefront of the Marriott Miches Beach Resort experience, with several pools, a full-service spa, a state-of-the-art gym, a lively nightclub, and a retail area for shopping. Business travelers and event planners will find approximately 8,600 square feet of indoor meeting space ideal for conferences, weddings, and special events, ensuring that the resort caters to both leisure and corporate guests.

This announcement follows Marriott’s recent entry into the all-inclusive space with the family-friendly Marriott Cancun. The company has ambitious plans to grow the All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, with upcoming projects including Marriott Puerto Vallarta and Marriott Djerba in Tunisia. Marriott’s commitment to expanding its all-inclusive offerings underscores the brand’s dedication to providing diverse and enriching travel experiences for its guests worldwide.
