Initially covering the traditional auroral season from October to March, Hurtigruten has now broadened this guarantee to start from mid-September, offering guests an even wider window to witness the mesmerizing natural spectacle.

To qualify, voyagers must be on an itinerary lasting at least 11 days. Should the Northern Lights remain elusive from the ship during their expedition, guests are entitled to a complimentary 6-day southbound or a 7-day northbound voyage on the Original Coastal Express Classic Voyage. This unique promise ensures that guests have the opportunity to witness the aurora borealis, with sightings officially recognized when announced by the ship’s deck officers.
