Disney Cruise Line Unveils Exciting Expansion at Lighthouse Point: Introducing Disney Lookout Cay

Disney Cruise Line is set to enhance its private island experience with the upcoming debut of Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, located on the picturesque island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas. Revealed through an announcement on the Disney Parks Blog, this expansion is anticipated to welcome guests starting this June, immersing them in the vibrant Bahamian culture inspired by Junkanoo, a celebrated Bahamian festival renowned for its exuberant music, dazzling colors, and dynamic parades.

Disney Lookout Cay promises to offer guests an enriched tropical retreat that extends the already beloved Lighthouse Point experience. Among the new features is Mabrika Cove Cabanas, providing a cozy and shaded beachside setting for relaxation and leisure. Additionally, the True-True Too BBQ lunch area is set to delight guests with its unique design, echoing the beauty of giant seashells and adorned with nature-themed art.

The expansion also introduces a convenient tram stop, enhancing accessibility within the island and offering guests the opportunity to explore local Bahamian handicrafts through various vendors. This initiative not only enhances the guest experience but also supports local artisans and the broader community.

Joey Gaskins, a Disney Cruise Line team member from The Bahamas who contributed to the Disney Parks blog post, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing the importance of showcasing Bahamian culture to visitors from around the world. “As a Bahamian and Disney Cruise Line cast member, I am thrilled for our guests to experience Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. Adding a touch of Disney magic, even Mickey and Minnie Mouse will debut new outfits inspired by Junkanoo, designed by Bahamian fashion designer Theodore Elyett. These designs are set to captivate guests with their bright colors and festive spirit, embodying the essence of the Junkanoo celebration.
