Qatar Airways Expands African Network with New Flights to Kinshasa
Qatar Airways has announced the addition of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), to its extensive global route network, marking a significant expansion in Africa. This new route not only enhances connectivity within the continent but also facilitates greater international travel options to and from Africa, using Doha, Qatar as a strategic gateway to China, Europe, and the Indian Subcontinent.
Starting June 1, 2024, the airline will also increase the frequency of flights to Luanda, Angola, from one to four weekly flights, incorporating a combined service with the newly introduced Kinshasa route. This expansion brings the total number of African destinations served by Qatar Airways to twenty-nine, underscoring the carrier’s commitment to enhancing its presence on the continent.
Thierry Antinori, Chief Commercial Officer of Qatar Airways, commented on the expansion, stating, “2024 marks a year of significant milestones in our network expansion, with the addition of Kinshasa being particularly notable as it aligns with our strategic goal of broadening our footprint in Africa.” He further emphasized, “The inclusion of Kinshasa is a testament to our ongoing efforts to improve connectivity and offer a greater choice of travel destinations to our passengers in Africa through our hub at Hamad International Airport in Doha.”
This latest development reaffirms Qatar Airways’ dedication to providing enhanced service options and a more connected travel experience for passengers traveling to and from Africa.
