Qatar Airways in Talks for Major Widebody Aircraft Acquisition from Boeing and Airbus
Qatar Airways is reportedly on the verge of finalizing a substantial order for widebody aircraft, potentially acquiring around 200 jets from both Boeing and Airbus, according to a recent Bloomberg News report. The anticipated order, consisting of Airbus A350s and Boeing 777X models, could be announced as early as the Farnborough Air Show in Britain next month, sources say.
While Airbus has acknowledged ongoing discussions with Qatar Airways regarding their fleet expansion needs, specific details of the negotiations remain under wraps. Boeing, on the other hand, has directed inquiries back to Qatar Airways, which has opted not to comment on the matter at this time.

This move is part of a broader trend among major airlines to acquire newer, more fuel-efficient aircraft to address the surging demand for international travel and to enhance operational efficiencies.
