CAE, a leading Canadian simulator and training provider, has opened a new training facility in Savannah, Georgia, specifically designed for Gulfstream business jet pilots and technicians. Strategically located near Gulfstream’s headquarters and main production site, the center enhances CAE’s commitment to supporting the aviation industry’s growing demand for qualified personnel.

This state-of-the-art facility, which began operations on June 20, 2024, marks the first executive aviation training center built exclusively for Gulfstream. It joins CAE’s expansive network of training centers across the United States, including locations in New Jersey, Nevada, Texas, Florida, and an additional center in Montreal, Canada.

Equipped to house up to four full-flight simulators (FFS), the Savannah center has already launched its first simulator for the Gulfstream G550 since January 2024. Plans are underway to introduce a second simulator for the Gulfstream G280 in July 2024, further expanding its training capabilities.

CAE’s new center not only focuses on pilot training but also offers a comprehensive maintenance training program for various Gulfstream models, including the G280, G650, and the G500/G600 series. The program incorporates innovative virtual reality tools to simulate real-world scenarios, reducing the dependency on actual aircraft for training purposes.

As the aviation sector continues to face significant labor shortages, the need for well-trained pilots and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) technicians is more critical than ever. CAE projects that by 2032, the executive jet industry will require an additional 32,000 pilots and 74,000 MRO technicians to meet operational demands.

The Savannah training center is set to play a pivotal role in addressing these industry challenges, providing tailored training solutions right at the heart of one of Gulfstream’s key operational bases.
