Saudia has unveiled images of a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, specially redesigned to mark the upcoming Saudi National Day. The aircraft, registered HZ-ARB, sports a striking new look with deep green engine cowlings and a distinctive tail design.

The Saudi Arabian flag carrier shared these images on social media on September 10, 2024, as anticipation builds for Saudi National Day on September 23, 2024. The post on X read: “A special green preparation for Saudi National Day. Wait for us,” highlighting the aircraft’s festive livery.

Saudi National Day, celebrated annually on September 23, commemorates the 1932 renaming of the Kingdom of Nejd and Hejaz to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by King Abdulaziz ibn Saud. In 1965, King Faisal bin Abdulaziz designated the day for national celebrations, making it a time for public holidays and traditional festivities throughout the Kingdom.

The newly painted Boeing 787-9 is part of Saudia’s broader rebranding efforts, which included a refreshed logo and updated cabin crew uniforms introduced in late 2023. The airline’s new color palette, featuring shades of green, blue, and sand, reflects its ambition to enhance global connectivity and expand its fleet and destinations.

Additionally, Saudia’s aircraft livery now includes a redesigned tail in green, featuring the new logo and the word “Saudia” prominently displayed along the fuselage’s lower section. This updated branding aligns with Saudia’s commitment to modernizing its image and celebrating national pride.
