UrbanLink Air Mobility, a pioneering company based in South Florida, is advancing its commitment to advanced air mobility (AAM) and zero-emission aviation by placing an order for up to 20 Alice commuter airplanes from Eviation Aircraft. This strategic order includes an initial commitment to 10 aircraft, with the option to acquire an additional 10, reinforcing UrbanLink’s dedication to sustainable air travel solutions.

The Alice is a nine-seat, zero-emission commuter aircraft designed for eco-friendly regional flights, capable of operating on routes of up to 250 nautical miles (approximately 463 kilometers) nonstop. This innovative aircraft represents a significant leap towards reducing carbon footprints in regional air transportation, aligning with UrbanLink’s mission to promote sustainability in urban mobility.

Based in Washington State, Eviation Aircraft specializes in developing and manufacturing electric aircraft aimed at delivering green, cost-efficient, and convenient regional transportation. UrbanLink’s investment in the Alice aircraft marks a pivotal moment in the company’s journey towards sustainability and innovation, positioning it as a leader in the zero-emission regional air travel sector.

UrbanLink plans to operate the Alice aircraft from its hubs in Miami, Los Angeles, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. The introduction of these aircraft will enhance UrbanLink’s service offerings, allowing the company to provide greener, more efficient urban mobility aviation solutions across various regional routes.

“Our order for ten Eviation Alice aircraft completes the third leg of our all-electric operating plan, giving us the ability to offer nine-seat, zero-emission flights across our network,” said Ed Wegel, Founder and Chairman of UrbanLink. “In conjunction with our regional eVTOL aircraft and electric sea vessels, we will provide seamless, sustainable travel options, paving the way for a fully integrated, eco-friendly travel experience.”

Andre Stein, CEO of Eviation, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to partner with UrbanLink in revolutionizing regional air mobility. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our shared vision of creating a sustainable and efficient transportation network. The Alice’s zero-emissions technology and exceptional passenger experience will empower UrbanLink to deliver unparalleled service while contributing to a greener future.”

The Alice aircraft has already garnered significant attention, with over 600 orders valued at more than $5 billion from various customers, including Air New Zealand, Cape Air, DHL, V-Bird, and GlobalX. The aircraft successfully completed its first flight in September 2022, demonstrating its potential for transforming regional air travel.

This order from UrbanLink follows closely behind its recent purchase of 27 all-electric Viceroy seagliders from REGENT Craft, intended for regional networks in South Florida and Puerto Rico starting in 2027. The Viceroy can accommodate up to 12 passengers and travel at speeds of up to 180 mph (290 kph) over distances of 180 miles (288 km) on a single charge, further enhancing UrbanLink’s commitment to sustainable transportation solutions.

UrbanLink Air Mobility’s initiatives are set to revolutionize regional air travel, combining advanced technology with a focus on sustainability, making eco-friendly aviation a reality for urban commuters.
