Airbus Leads in 2025-2034 Global Aircraft Deliveries Forecast
The 2025 Aviation Week Commercial Fleet & MRO Forecast predicts over 21,900 new commercial aircraft deliveries worldwide between 2025 and 2034, with Airbus set to outpace Boeing. Narrowbody aircraft will dominate, with the Airbus A320neo family surpassing the Boeing 737 MAX in deliveries.
Airbus is expected to deliver over 11,200 aircraft during the period, capturing 51% of the market, while Boeing will deliver more than 8,800 aircraft, representing a 40% share. Together, the two manufacturers account for 91% of total global deliveries. In the twin-aisle segment, the Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 will lead the way.
Status as of September 2024:
- Airbus delivered 50 new aircraft and won orders for 235 more in September.
- Boeing delivered 33 commercial airplanes to its customers in September.
- Year-to-date, Boeing and Airbus have delivered 291 and 497 aircraft compared to 371 and 488, respectively, during the first three quarters of 2023.
The forecast indicates a 3.1% CAGR fleet growth, with 44,600 aircraft in service by 2033. Additionally, MRO demand is projected to grow at 3.2% CAGR, reaching $1.4 trillion over the decade, driven largely by engine shop visits valued at $557.6 billion, with over 95,000 overhaul events expected.
