Baha Mar Announces New Luxury Resort and Residences on Cable Beach
Baha Mar, Nassau’s premier luxury resort, has unveiled plans to expand with a fourth luxury beachfront resort and residences, set to enhance its “luxury of choice” collection on Cable Beach. Construction will begin in 2026, with an anticipated opening in 2029, following the signing of the Heads of Agreement with the Bahamian government.
Designed by Foster + Partners, the new resort will span 12 acres, offering 350 guest rooms and 50 luxury branded residences. It will feature four dining venues, including a rooftop Omakase restaurant and a beachfront eatery led by a celebrity chef. Additional amenities include a 14,000-square-foot spa, luxury retail, swimming pools, and family-friendly attractions.
The resort will also offer 25,000 square feet of event space, including ballrooms, breakout rooms, and outdoor areas, catering to corporate and personal events.
Graeme Davis, President of Baha Mar, emphasized the $350 million project’s role in boosting economic growth and job creation in The Bahamas. The construction phase is expected to create 400 jobs, with 500 permanent positions available once operational.
Philip Davis, Prime Minister of The Bahamas, highlighted the project’s significance in boosting tourism and local employment. Guests of the new resort will also have access to the broader Baha Mar complex, including the nearby Baha Bay waterpark. The resort will be built on the site of the former Melia Nassau Beach, demolished as part of Baha Mar’s redevelopment efforts.
