Latvia’s Union Aviation has expanded its fleet with the addition of its first locally-registered Bombardier Challenger 604, marking a significant milestone for the Riga-based private aviation company. The newly registered jet, YL-TIM (msn 5543), completed its first flight under the Latvian registry on October 31, 2024, operating between Riga and Kaunas International. This recent acquisition enhances Union Aviation’s capacity to serve the growing demand for private charter services within and beyond Latvia.

The Challenger 604 previously flew under an Aruban registration as P4-EYE and arrived in Riga from Cologne/Bonn on October 13, 2024. The 22-year-old business jet boasts a robust operational history, having been initially delivered to Flexjet in Cleveland, Ohio. Since its debut, it has changed hands multiple times, remaining under U.S. registration until 2021, when it was exported to Russia and operated briefly by Aviaservice, based in Kazan. Now under Latvian registration, the aircraft will serve Union Aviation’s charter and management clients across Europe and other international destinations.

With the addition of this Challenger 604, Union Aviation’s Latvian-registered fleet now totals 10 diverse aircraft, including high-demand models like the Gulfstream G450, Global Express, Global Express XRS, and multiple Embraer Legacy jets. Alongside the Challenger 604, the fleet also comprises one Legacy 600, four Legacy 650s, and one Embraer Lineage 1000. The company also operates an additional Legacy 650, registered in San Marino, extending its reach and versatility in meeting charter requests.

Founded in 2021, Union Aviation has rapidly established itself as a key player in the Baltic private jet charter market. With a specialized focus on providing premium private charter flights and comprehensive aircraft management services, Union Aviation caters to an array of clientele, including corporate and high-net-worth individuals seeking reliable, tailored travel solutions. The company is part of Amber Jet Group, which also offers services in aircraft sales and acquisitions, allowing Union Aviation to support clients throughout the ownership lifecycle.

In addition to its charter and management services, Union Aviation offers ground handling through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Nord Aviation Services, which operates out of Riga. Nord Aviation enhances the company’s service capabilities, providing seamless ground support for charter flights and other private aviation needs. This integrated approach ensures that Union Aviation maintains high standards of service quality from ground to air, a critical factor in its appeal to discerning travelers.

The Challenger 604’s entry into Union Aviation’s fleet is a strategic addition, reinforcing its commitment to fleet diversity and operational readiness. As one of Latvia’s prominent private aviation providers, Union Aviation continues to expand its reach, making private jet travel more accessible to clients throughout Europe and internationally. This growth aligns with a broader trend in the Baltic region, where demand for private jet services has been steadily increasing due to the flexibility, privacy, and convenience offered by charter flights.

With an enhanced fleet and robust support services, Union Aviation is well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of the private charter market, making it a leading choice for premium travel solutions in Latvia and beyond.
