Cebu Pacific (CEB), the Philippine low-cost carrier, has announced the launch of direct flights from Manila International Airport (MNL) to Japan’s New Chitose Airport (CTS) in Sapporo, starting January 16, 2025. This new route will provide travelers with affordable access to Japan’s winter wonderland, known for its snowy charm.

The airline will operate flights three times a week—every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday—making it the only carrier to offer non-stop flights between Manila and Sapporo. With this direct service, passengers can expect a travel time of approximately five hours, significantly shorter than the up to 10 hours typically required with layovers on other airlines.

Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific’s President and Chief Commercial Officer, expressed excitement about the new route, stating, “We are thrilled to be the only carrier to offer non-stop flights between Manila and Sapporo. The launch of this route is a testament to Cebu Pacific’s mission of expanding its international network and making air travel accessible to a wider range of passengers.” He added that this initiative opens up opportunities for more Filipinos to experience the winter attractions of Sapporo.

With the new flights, travelers can look forward to participating in the famous Sapporo Snow Festival in February 2025, enjoying snowboarding at Teine Ski Resort, or relaxing at the scenic Jozankei Onsen. Currently, Cebu Pacific operates in 35 domestic and 27 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
