HK Express Welcomes 10th Airbus A321neo as Fleet Grows
HK Express Airways has added its 10th Airbus A321neo to its fleet, marking a key milestone in its expansion toward a 40-aircraft fleet. The latest A321neo, registered B-KKJ, entered service on November 9, 2024, with a flight from Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK).
This new addition brings HK Express’ total fleet to 39 aircraft, with the 40th expected later this year. The airline’s current fleet includes six Airbus A320ceos, 10 A320neos, 13 A321ceos, and 10 A321neos, with an average fleet age of just 7.3 years.
Jeanette Mao, CEO of HK Express, expressed excitement about the fleet’s growth, stating, “Since receiving our first A321neo in March of last year, we’ve added 10 A321neo aircraft in just over a year and a half. This rapid expansion, along with our new route launches, will increase our weekly flights to over 800.”
The A321neo, which features the largest fuselage in HK Express’ fleet, can accommodate up to 236 passengers, making it a key asset in meeting growing demand. Mao also highlighted the airline’s optimism about the Asian market, particularly with the ongoing development of Hong Kong’s Three-runway System, which is expected to open up new opportunities for expansion.
Looking ahead, HK Express plans to continue expanding its fleet and launching new routes, reinforcing Hong Kong’s position as a leading international aviation hub while offering more affordable travel options across Asia.
