Air Astana and Etihad Airways Launch Codeshare Agreement
Air Astana, the flag carrier of Kazakhstan, has entered into a strategic codeshare partnership with Etihad Airways, expanding travel opportunities for passengers on both airlines. The agreement, which took effect on November 26, 2024, marks a significant step in enhancing connectivity and offering more seamless travel options between the two airlines’ global networks.
Under the codeshare agreement, Air Astana passengers can now access Etihad Airways’ extensive route network, including flights to key destinations such as Mumbai (BOM), Riyadh (RUH), Dammam (DMA), Bahrain (BAH), Cairo (CAI), Doha (DOH), Kuwait (KWI), and Muscat (MCT). This partnership significantly broadens the options for travelers flying from Kazakhstan, providing them with more flexibility and convenience.
In return, Etihad Airways passengers will have seamless connections to Air Astana’s direct flights from Astana, which began in late October 2024, and from Almaty International Airport (ALA), starting December 5, 2024. These new connections will offer enhanced travel routes between Kazakhstan and the Middle East, enabling smoother transitions through Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH).
