Kansas City Aviation Center has taken a major step in expanding its Part 135-certified fleet with the addition of its very first Citation Excel. According to ch-aviation research, the new aircraft, registered as N785CC (msn 560-5275), plays a crucial role in the operator’s ongoing strategy to enhance charter capabilities and service offerings. The Citation Excel’s entry marks a milestone for the center, which already boasts a diverse and modern fleet designed to meet a wide range of client needs.

Previously, this Citation Excel was operated by Airshare (XSR, Kansas City Downtown) under its Part 135 certificate until September 2024. The 22.4-year-old jet was last active under Airshare’s “XSR” code on August 28, completing test flights around Kansas City Executive and Kansas City New Century airports. After these test flights, the aircraft continued to operate privately until November 20, when it flew between Mitchell Municipal and Kansas City Executive. Since then, it has been parked at Kansas City Executive while it awaited integration into the Kansas City Aviation Center’s Part 135 fleet.

With the addition of the Citation Excel, Kansas City Aviation Center now operates a charter fleet of nine aircraft. In addition to the newly added Citation Excel, the fleet comprises a Citation Jet 3+, a Citation M2, a Citation Sovereign+, and five PC-12 turboprops. This varied fleet allows the center to provide tailored charter services for a wide spectrum of needs, from short regional hops to longer and more luxurious business journeys.

The Citation Excel is well known for its speed, range, and passenger comfort in the mid-size business jet category. With its modern cockpit, advanced avionics, and a spacious cabin, it provides a superior flying experience that appeals to both corporate clients and private travelers. The aircraft will enhance the operator’s capabilities by offering efficient performance and increased passenger capacity on key charter routes. This fleet expansion is seen as a timely move to support growing demand from customers seeking dependable, high-quality charter services in a competitive market.

In addition to its charter flight services, Kansas City Aviation Center offers a comprehensive range of aviation solutions including aircraft management, maintenance, and sales. The center also operates a fixed-base operator (FBO) facility at Kansas City Executive Airport. By integrating a broader array of services, the operator aims to provide end-to-end solutions for private aviation, ensuring that customers enjoy seamless, efficient, and reliable service.

This strategic move to add the Citation Excel is part of the company’s broader ambition to strengthen its market position and drive future growth. Expanding the fleet with a mix of modern jets helps Kansas City Aviation Center remain competitive and adapt to changing customer demands, particularly in the fast-growing private jet charter sector.

The latest fleet enhancement reflects the commitment of Kansas City Aviation Center to continuously upgrade its assets and improve operational efficiency. As the aviation market evolves, the addition of the Citation Excel underscores the operator’s proactive approach to innovation and customer satisfaction.
